Recently we were transported to the desert just outside Riyadh in Saudi Arabia for a dance music and arts festival called MDL Beast. A historic first of its kind event in Saudi Arabia.
The entire site was built from desert to festival site in just three months. We were commissioned by our good friends at Fast Lane Productions to provide ingest, edit, streaming and network connectivity for the festival working alongside NEP Dubai. Providing full kit logistics there and back alongside 24 hour technical and edit staff across the festival duration, 13 staff in total.
We deployed 32 channels of live broadcast and proxy record feeding our Avid Nexis storage with growing clips. Alongside the ENG camera teams and DIT staff the edit team could instantly pull together multiple highlights shows and social clips. We also provided our LiveU solution and went live on YouTube twice an evening across the three days.
The festival also recently won a Guinness World Record for having the world’s tallest temporary stage!
